The Head of Trading will be responsible for executing and managing our Power & Gas trading portfolio, developing trading strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role will also involve managing relationships with brokers, exchanges, and other financial institutions.

• Develop and execute ST/LT trading strategies for physical and financial energy commodities especially on European Power/Gas/Carbon, including futures, options, and other derivatives, utilizing quantitative models and algorithms while adhering to risk ceilings and trade control procedures
• Lead and manage a team of traders focused on commodities trading, providing direction, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Drive the research and development of new trading ideas, leveraging advanced data analytics, AI, and machine learning techniques to identify market opportunities.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders, including risk management, technology, and operations, to optimize trading performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Take ownership of projects and strategy inputs, continuously improving PnL through data-driven decision-making and innovative approaches.
• Manage relationships with brokers, exchanges, and other financial institutions.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the management level, fostering a high-performance trading house culture.
• Prepare and present regular trading reports to senior management.

• 10+ years of experience in power & gas trading, [with a focus on Hedge Funds/Energy Commodities].
• Min. Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, or closely related technological discipline.
• Proven solid track record in power & gas trading, with in-depth knowledge of the global commodities markets, including futures, options, and other derivatives.
• Excellent proficiency in quantitative research, data analysis, and statistical modeling, with experience in utilizing programming languages (any of Python, R, or VBA is a plus).
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of financial markets and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and mentoring traders/analysts in a commodities trading environment.
